know the saying ... You can tell the men from the boys by the price of
their toys. Well, what about women and girls and the price of their
rocks? It doesn't rhyme, but it certainly applies, to me at
least. I have loved rocks since I was a very little girl. The
only difference is now they are much prettier and pricier....
I hope you have enjoyed looking at the fruits of my hobby. In "real" life, I am a college professor. I began to learn about the healing attributes of gems and minerals while in my PhD program, in order to deal with the intense stress and accompanying health issues that arose. Eventually I sort of ran out of room to have specimens sitting around the house and decided to find innovative ways to wear the stones on my body.... Since I put a watch on every day, my first lesson was how to make watch bands. A watch customer pushed me to expand my repertoire (Thank You VERY much, Tina!), and now I am able to offer the full range of watches, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Now Tina's husband wants items HE can wear, and my "line" is expanding even farther. Thank you for your interest in my work. I am happiest when I am beading. It keeps me sane. I teach to support my bead habit (and because I really do enjoy my students!)Karen |
